About Catalan Words
Catalan Words was born in 2017 as an Instagram account with the aim of making Catalan fly around the world in a creative, minimalist and soulful way. Behind it, there is a boy from Barcelona with the desire to give voice and shape to a beautiful language that is often not heard enough.
The project grows thanks to all the people who connect with it and love it. A diverse and passionate community , who participate, share and identify with a way of seeing the world through words. Today, Catalan Words reaches more than 100 countries : from native speakers to expats who miss the land, including curious people who have never set foot in Catalonia, but who fall in love with its culture and language.
In 2021, with the desire to bring words to everyday life, the Catalan Words online store was born, with t-shirts, sweatshirts, mugs and other products designed with four non-negotiable values: design, quality, comfort, and sustainability.
In November 2024 , the project takes a new leap with the publication of Les nostres paraules , the first book of Catalan Words , published by Penguin Random House . A new way of reading, feeling and sharing Catalan through paper, with the same sensitivity that defines our community.
At Catalan Words we believe that Catalan is much more than a language. It is a way of loving, of creating, of living. An attitude towards life, made up of words like optimism , effort , beauty , ambition , solidarity and the desire to grow .
